360 Organics was born from a need to find a cost effective way to organically improve the dry, nutrient poor soil of southwest Texas range land. Decades of overgrazing by the cattle, sheep and goat industries coupled with the rocky terrain and the lack of topsoil have created a critically high ph level. “Necessity is the mother of invention”, as the saying goes, and the challenge began to find a product which would work efficiently as well as effectively in order bring the ph level down and add additional organic matter to the soil.

The goal was to improve the natural carrying capacity of the land for the native wildlife through the improvement of the soil and therefore increase the abundance of the native foods for the animals. This was achieved through the use of humic acids. The humic acid used is leonardite, a highly oxidized form of organic matter. Its job is to help break up compacted soils, assist in transferring micro-nutrients from the soil to the plant, enhance water retention, increase seed germination rates and percentages, and stimulate development of microflora populations in soils. The humic acids used in conjunction with other organic materials such as seaweed, yucca and fish byproducts prove to work extremely well, not only in rejuvenating the semi-arid range land but work even better in areas where the soil is much healthier.
